If you have saved your Wi-Fi network on any laptop or computer and want to remove it, you can delete the saved Wi-Fi profile. This helps prevent others from using your Wi-Fi connection or attempting to access the saved password. Follow the steps below:
| | Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Admin rights are required to modify network profiles. |
|---|---|
| Press the Windows key, type command prompt, right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. | |
| | Find the exact Wi-Fi name: |
| To see a list of all saved networks on your PC, type the following command and press Enter: | |
| netsh wlan show profiles | |
| Look under the “User profiles” section for the exact name of the Wi-Fi network you want to remove. | |
| | Delete the Wi-Fi profile: |
| Type the following command, replacing WIFI_NAME with the exact name you found in the previous step, and press Enter: | |
| netsh wlan delete profile name=“WIFI_NAME” | |
| Example: netsh wlan delete profile name=“HomeNetwork5G” | |
| Note: If the Wi-Fi name contains spaces, you must wrap the name in quotation marks (e.g., name=“Cafe Guest WiFi”). You will see a confirmation message stating that the profile is deleted. |
